Cavaliers Stun Celtics in Game 1 of Eastern Conference Semifinals

Boston's streak snapped as Cleveland takes 1-0 lead

Ty Jerome, Dean Wade, and Craig Porter Jr. lead the charge for the Cavaliers

The Cleveland Cavaliers stunned the Boston Celtics 105-104 in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals on Tuesday night at TD Garden. The Celtics had barely broken a sweat in the playoffs coming into Tuesday night, but the Cavaliers came out with a determined effort and never let the Celtics get comfortable.

The Cavaliers were led by Ty Jerome, who had 24 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists. Dean Wade added 19 points and 10 rebounds, while Craig Porter Jr. chipped in with 18 points off the bench.

The Celtics were led by Jayson Tatum, who had 21 points and 11 rebounds. Jaylen Brown added 20 points, but the Celtics struggled to find their rhythm on offense.

The Cavaliers took a 10-point lead in the first quarter and never looked back. The Celtics cut the lead to 5 points in the second quarter, but the Cavaliers answered back with a 7-0 run to take a 12-point lead into halftime.

The Celtics came out with a renewed effort in the third quarter and cut the lead to 3 points, but the Cavaliers again answered back and took a 9-point lead into the fourth quarter.

The Celtics made one final push in the fourth quarter and cut the lead to 1 point with 2 minutes remaining, but the Cavaliers held on for the win.

The Cavaliers now have a 1-0 lead in the series and will host Game 2 on Thursday night at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.
